When you think about Cadillac, you don’t typically think of a track-ready monster packing 668 horsepower, blasting from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, with a top speed of over 200 mph. But the V-Series Blackwing sedans are no ordinary Caddy’s, not by a longshot!
Cadillac just introduced the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and 2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, two of the most powerful, track-capable Cadillacs ever built, developed with driver engagement and performance at the top of mind, while continuing to set new standards for luxury and comfort.
“V-Series Blackwing stands for the very highest level of execution from Cadillac and offers a distinctly American vision of performance: incredible power and luxurious craftsmanship, with absolutely zero compromise,” said Brandon Vivian, executive chief engineer, Cadillac. “We looked to our championship-winning racing heritage and brought an uncompromising eye for detail to create cars that elevate the V-Series experience.”
These models carry on the legacy that the discontinued CTS-V and ATS-V were known for, while dialing up the excitement level to 11.
The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is packing a 6.2L Supercharged V8 that puts out 668 HP and 659 lb-ft of torque. That’s good for a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds and a top speed of over 200 mph. Those are supercar numbers, but from a massive luxury sedan that probably tips the scales at 4,000 lbs. Oh yeah, and it comes with a six-speed manual transmission standard so you can row the gears.
As for the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing, it’s powered by a 3.6L Twin-Turbo V6 that puts out 472 HP and 445 lb-ft of torque. The car rockets from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 189 mph. And it also comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission, for a more engaging experience on the track or on the road.
Both V-Series Blackwing models were developed with driver engagement & performance at the top of mind. In addition to giving these cars massive power, Cadillac engineers also made sure that they’d be ready for the track with electronic limited slip rear differentials, advanced suspension refinements, magnetic ride control, structural enhancements, huge Brembo brakes, MICHELIN Pilot Sport 4S tires, and significant weight reduction.
